365 days, 365 pictures. That's my goal. Am I a photographer? Spend 30 seconds looking around, and you will see clearly I am not. But I do love preserving these days I have been given so that I can one day look back and remember them, because my memory is just not efficient enough to count on. Trust me.

day 187

november 20
My husband's way of kicking off a weekend.

day 186

November 19
My idea of kicking of a nice long weekend.

day 185

November 18
Nothing says thanksgiving like American Indian attire!

day 184

November 17
I spent the day crafting in the craft room. I love that room.

day 183

november 16

This is the second favorite spot, under the kitchen table. I love that this picture also shows a random shoe. He loves taking shoes. We can almost never find a pair around here anymore.

day 182

November 15
This child has taken a liking to hiding spots. This is his current favorite, under the computer desk.

day 181

November 14

This little guy is a hot item around our house. He is constantly on someone's finger. I have found him in every room in this house. Today though, I found him in my toilet.

Now, that was a new place.

day 180

November 13

It was mom's night out tonight. And while I thoroughly enjoy mom's night out, this little guy doesn't. Hailey kindly took this picture for me as evidence.

day 179

November 11

Today Caleb re-discovered his little photo album of the day he was born. I had so much fun pouring through that album with him, looking at every detail of that baby, and marveling at how much light and laughter that baby who is now a handsome 4 year old boy brings to me every day.

day 178

November 10

I love looking at this wall. It shows so much about my kids where they are in their lives right now.

Jonas into drawing bloody pictures that rock.
Hailey into being a model student and writing awesome stories.
And Caleb learning numbers, letters, and how to make turkeys with excessive quantities of glue.

Love these days.

day 177

November 9

Porter, mid splash

right smack in the middle of his favorite past time.

day 176

November 8

Saying goodbye to the kids every morning is always a heart breaking event for Porter. Good thing they come home everyday.

day 175

November 7

I have hoped, and I have dreamed and now, finally, they write my biography. You love me, you really love me.

day 174

November 6

A friendly game of basketball. Okay, an intensely friendly game of basketball. One of the best Saturday afternoon activities.

day 173

November 5

We have so many leaves; they are covering our grass, our patio, our swings, our garden and our children.  While raking today, we made this grisly discovery:

 Creepy.

day 172

November 4

Tonight, we celebrated some fabulous report cards with some fabulous frozen yogurt. Nothing says good job like large quantities of sugar.

Thursday, November 4, 2010

day 171

November 3, 2010

Soaking up these last few days of fall. The kids keep wearing shorts and no shoes trying to get it all in before they can't anymore.

day 170

November 2, 2010

Isn't he menacing?  Try having this kid for an older brother. Poor Porter.

Monday, November 1, 2010

day 169

November 1, 2010

Hailey taught family night tonight. She did a marvelous job. Even with the half naked baby dancing on the table in front of her most of the time.

day 168

October 31

The afternoon was spent making creepy lego creations. The afternoon ended with our family room looking much like a volcanic explosion of legos.

Saturday, October 30, 2010

day 167

October 30

Happy sort of Halloween, y'all...

For those of you who like that sort of thing.
For those of you who don't? Hang in there, it's almost over!!

day 166

October 29

Not only did my husband not have to work late tonight, but we went out! Like, on a date! And he only touched his phone once to turn it off!
Miracles have not ceased, people.

Friday, October 29, 2010

day 165

October 28

Today, I watched Harry Potter sing his heart out at his pre-school performance.

I loved it so much, I didn't even mind I have watched the exact same program with each child that has gone before him.

day 164

October 27

Dirty carrots:

Trying to believe that I actually eat something that starts out so unappetizing.

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

day 163

October 26

It was one of those days.

day 162

October 25

No it's not a good picture and Yes, it's blurry but it is Porter. This picture captures that 17 month old who has an obsession (and when I say obsession I mean a boil-your-bunny obsession) with growling. He was growling at me when I took this.  If he wasn't so human, I would eat him up.

Monday, October 25, 2010

day 161

October 24

Getting ready for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's (JDRF) Trunk or treat happening Monday.

day 160

October 23

I sent the kids outside yesterday to pick any and all tomatoes left before the cold hit us. Jonas came back with this:

Tomato nose? Tomato pimple? Tomatoes twin that didn't get any nourishment?

I don't think we will be eating this one....

day 159

October 22

Waiting patiently for her endocrinologist appointment,

Hailey tries to pretend she loves these visits.

Thursday, October 21, 2010

day 158

October 21

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas:

The American Girl Doll catalog came and Hailey spent the afternoon in the backyard with Kit studying and circling and creating the world's most expensive Christmas list.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

day 157

October 20

Reason 1,987,999 to love fall:

Multicolored trees.

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

day 156

October 19

The after school snack of champions.

Monday, October 18, 2010

day 155

October 18

I am no photographer or anything (you know that) and I don't even have a real camera (you know that too), but isn't this cool?

Sunday, October 17, 2010

day 154

October 17

You got to love those eyes.

Okay, so you don't have to, but you really should.

Saturday, October 16, 2010

day 153

October 16

Still laying around...

at least we dressed ourselves today.

Friday, October 15, 2010

day 152

October 15

A nasty stomach bug has hit our family and we have all had our turn enjoying it...
we declared a sick day full of netflix movies today. There was a lot of blankets and sippies and laying around.

What a way to spend a weekend.

day 151

october 14

We dug out the costume bucket for Halloween and Caleb decided to be Harry Potter.

It has everything to do with the glasses. He wore them all day, all night, and begrudgingly only took them off to sleep.

I must admit he is the cutest little four eyes I ever saw. You can admit it too.

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

day 150

October 13

A play date for Porter today...

Mostly it was who could ignore one another the best. Just give him 15 years...

day 149

October 12

While examining the day's garden pickings Jonas and I discovered this:

Not a siamese twin, but a siamese triplet.
[shudder]

Good thing we don't grow babies around here anymore.

Monday, October 11, 2010

day 148

October 11

Dear internet:

How do I tell my husband that while I am fond of him and all the work he put into serving a mission in Argentina well over a decade ago, I am just not that into his "mementos" from the mission?

How do I tell him that if he does decide to hang a memento from his mission without my prior knowledge and or approval that he should never, under any circumstances use a green push pin?
How do I tell my dear husband that maybe he should leave the "filling the wall space in our home" job to me?

Sunday, October 10, 2010

day 147

October 10

I was sick. Real sick. Couldn't get out of bed sick. All day. I was sick yesterday too.
My house was wrong. Scary wrong. Scary like a bomb dropped wrong.
By the time I dragged myself out of bed that night and stepped into the pit of despair the only bright spot I saw was a few stained rags washed and folded just waiting to be put away.

Then I felt really sick.

Saturday, October 9, 2010

day 146

October 9

Yes, I know... this is a "what the crap" picture.
But it's the only one I took all day. I don't even remember taking it. Puking will do that to you.

Friday, October 8, 2010

day 145

October 8

Raise your hand if you let your younger children play with totally off limits toys of the older children while said older children are in school.

What... just me?
Crap.

Thursday, October 7, 2010

day 144

October 7

Skateboards: They bring young and old brothers together...

They are not just for breaking bones anymore.

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

day 143

October 6

Look close and you can spot the one and only Halloween decoration in our entire home:

Don't judge, just thank the daughter.

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

day 142

October 5

It's always easy to tell where Porter has been:

and the other children too for that matter, but that is a whole other post.

Monday, October 4, 2010

day 141

October 4

I read the first chapter of this book today and laughed out loud too many times to count. And that feels really disturbing to laugh out loud alone in a room. It makes you feel like getting out a little more.

I am crossing my fingers that the rest of the book holds a candle to the first
chapter.

Sunday, October 3, 2010

day 140

October 3

Happiness is a porch, patio, driveway, sidewalk or wall

littered with the evidence of childhood in progress.

Saturday, October 2, 2010

day 139

October 2

Taking pictures of toddlers is hard.
Taking pictures of toddlers who are angry because they want the camera is impossible.

But still worth a try.

Friday, October 1, 2010

day 138

October 1

Today this child got 7 shots, a minor bloody nose caused by a minor accidental kick to the face, and had a small collision with a rain gutter and somehow misplaced his shirt...

and he is still smiling.
